The newly Released Facebook weather app is not just a weather app

Facebook is rolling out a fully-fledged weather app on both desktop and mobile. The social media company started offering weather "greetings" to some users back in April 2016, but it's now rolling out a fully-fledged weather app on both desktop and mobile.

The App gives users the ability to check their local weather forecast at any time of the day. The feature started functioning  on Wednesday, and  could be found in the News Feed on your computer or in the section of the mobile app where you can find “Friends,” “Groups,” “Events,” and “Pages.”
You no longer have to leave Facebook to find out how tomorrow’s weather going to be.

When you click on the app you’ll be greeted to an hour and five-day forecast powered by Weather.com. For people who are currently having weather turbulence, there’s a graphic at the top of the page reflecting the current conditions in your area in which you can also check to know the condition of things.

The Weather app is built with features to link you directly to a detailed five-day forecast and most importantly, you can access the Weather section at any time.
You can tap the Settings button at the top of the page and to add a location of your choice, although the Weather section is set to the default of your current location, you can also change the units from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Users for the app can turn on notifications for weather reports, although this feature won’t be widely available until closer to the end of the month as is currently in the testing phase.

Facebook will continue using data from Weather.com's API to power the app For now, but the company is open to trying out new ways to make the weather updates even more useful.
