Netflix Announce New Download Feature and a Price Increase

Netflix users can now download their favorite
shows for free into smartphones and tablets to watch without internet, even as the streaming service announced to its customers of an incoming 50p price increase.
Before now, in order to stream content or view shows users need an internet connection to do so.

Not all shows are available for download with this feature. A download button will appear on the detail page when a TV series or film is available to be viewed offline. When using the feature to watch later all you have to do is click the download button it will be stored to be watched later without an internet connection on your device.

Here are instructions to start using the download feature

On your iOS or Android device you need to update to the most recent version of the Netflix app.
You’ll get a pop-up message asking you if you need to see programs available to download when you open up the app.
Tap the download icon next to the film or episode once you've found something interesting, to start downloading.
The program you choose to download will be displayed on My Downloads page, which is reachable via the main menu.
From the main menu you can also return to browse programs available to download.

Netflix’s most popular streaming plan is up from £7.49 to £7.99. The company started alerting subscribers that costs are going up in emails sent out to them recently.

According to the company’s spokesperson as the streaming service continues its push into original content that would attract huge audience and span their imagination it plans to adjust its prices to meet its financial obligations.
The email sent out today, stated that the price rise will allow Netflix to add more of what you like to watch. "Awesome entertainment built around you is what we're all about," the mail said.

Nevertheless, the cheapest plan that come with one screen and no HD is sticking to the £5.99 price point even as users took to twitter to tweet their displeasure at having to pay more.
