Apple revel its investing into building a self-drive car

Rumors have been swirling for some time of Apple's self-drive car plans. But a  letter written by Steve Kenner the company’s  director of product integrity, to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)  gave some insight on how apple plan to go about it.
In the letter to NHTSA, Apple said it was "excited about the potential of automated systems in many areas, including transportation".
It added that there were to be realized a "significant societal benefits of automated vehicles".
A source told DA Money that Apple’s letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) was driven by its "heavy investment in machine learning and autonomous systems" Which in the long run would help define best practices in the industry.
The five-page letter by Steve Kenner urges the regulators not to introduce many rules on self-drive car testing, saying “established manufacturers and new entrants should be treated equally."
Also, it highlights the need for individual company privacy data to be uncompromised. It suggests that this could be addressed if regulators "address privacy challenges that could affect how the industry as a whole handles its data.
However to enable the design of better systems It proposes in the letter that companies in the industry share data gotten from crashes and near-misses so as to build a more inclusive industry that one company can’t manage alone.
Industrial players like Ford, which it plans to build self-driving cars by 2021, said it was working hard on the basis that Apple was playing to get in the industry. Google is said to already start the testing of its self-driving cars. While electric carmaker,Tesla announced in October, that all the cars it now builds will have the hardware installed to drive on their own.
Also, this summer in the UK, an autonomous vehicle was test-driven in Milton Keynes, with further trials planned in London.

apple.car and apple.auto are registered domains apple hope to showcase its products when ready.
