Tesla's New Car Technology Can Predict an Accident before It Happens

There is evidence that Tesla’s new radar technology for Autopilot is proving useful in potentially dangerous situations.
The technology was demonstrated in this real world situation on the Autopilot recently.
In the Netherlands, a video of an accident caught on the dash cam of a Tesla Model X on the highway show the Autopilot’s forward collision warning, foretelling an accident before the driver could detect it.

Tesla announced a new radar processing technology that was directly pushed over-the-air to all its vehicles equipped with the first generation Autopilot hardware on the release of Tesla’s version 8.0 software update back in September.
This new system was pushed via an over-the-air software update to all Tesla vehicles equipped with the first generation Autopilot and sooner or later other vehicles equipped with the second generation Autopilot hardware will be updated.
The ability for the system to see ahead of the car in front of you and basically track two cars ahead on the road is one of the main features enabled by the new radar processing system.
The radar can see where the driver potentially cannot when the front vehicle is obstructing their view, it is able to bounce around or underneath the vehicle in front of the Tesla S or X Models.
Tesla Autopilot’s Forward Collision Warning sending out an alert that could be heard in the video below for seemingly no reason, but a fraction of a second later it could be understood understand why, when the vehicle in front of the Tesla crashes into an SUV that wasn’t visible from the standpoint of the Tesla driver but was in the Autopilot’s radar.
The most impressive thing here is that the Forward Collision Warning alert could be clearly heard before the lead vehicle applied its brake,
This means shows that the Autopilot wasn’t only using the lead vehicle to plan the path, but also the vehicle in front of it (the black SUV)

And also, just after the accident the Autopilot started braking before he could apply the brakes according to the driver of the Tesla Noordsij.
