Terror and Mayhem: Latest Victims of the Las Vegas Mass Shooting

As America reels from the deadliest mass shooting in its modern history, still the reason for the onslaught remains a mystery.

According to witnesses, it first  sounded like the loud crackling noise of fireworks, but when they heard screams  and saw bloodied victims collapse around them realization began to spread,  It dawned on people what was going on leading to stamped and trampling for the exits. Not realizing they are exposed to a gunman high above them many of the concert goers followed their instincts and crouched or lay flat making them an easy target.


The shocking toll at the outdoor country music festival by Monday stood at 59 people killed and 527 injured either by gunfire or in the flight to safety the police said.
Though no clear reason has emerged from the killing, police admit they are still investigating why Paddock, a 64-year-old retired accountant who reportedly became a multi-millionaire real estate investor after retiring committed the mass murder.
Police further revealed the attacker had a huge arsenal of at least 42 guns, explosives and several thousand rounds of ammunition found after SWAT police teams burst into his hotel room on Sunday evening.

While there are numerous social media reports about the victims more detailed picture has started to emerge from the chaos of some of those killed from official sources

Sonny Melton-Sonny Melton from Tennessee is identified as one of the victims killed in the mass shooting a registered nurse at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn., He was at the concert with his wife, Heather, an orthopedic surgeon, who made it out alive.

Lisa Romero-Muniz- Muniz is a grandmother who worked as a discipline secretary at Hiroshi Miyamura High School in Gallup, N.M.

Sandra Casey - 35-year-old Sandy Casey a special education teacher from SoCal, was there with colleagues but died in the shooting.
Rachael Parker-Parker from Manhattan Beach was a 10-year veteran of the city's police department and worked as a records technician. The 33-year-old "was shot and ultimately lost her life in the hospital.

According to a police department statement one off-duty Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer whose identity has not been confirmed was among the dead, numerous off-duty police officers were among the dead and wounded. Most were there simply to experience the music as they didn't attend the concert in their capacity as law enforcers.
