Stephen Hawking’s family shocked the science world when they released a statement saying his dead. A family representative said he died at his home in Cambridge, England, on Wednesday at the age of 76; Hawking rose to become one of the most influential scientists of his time.

During his time Hawking was known to bridge the gap on complicated subjects by infusing humor and wit to issues. His character and personality produced several famous quotes used today in various areas of life.
